Ingredients
- 60 saltine crackers
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup honey
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2
Next, take a 9-inch pie pan and apply a thin layer of grease to it.
3
To make the crust, take saltine crackers and crush them either by hand in a bowl or using a food processor.
4
Add granulated sugar and salt to the crushed crackers, mixing them together until well combined.
5
Melt butter by heating it in a saucepan over low heat, then add the crushed crackers and mix until they form a cohesive mixture.
6
Add honey to the mixture, stirring it in thoroughly.
7
Take the measuring cup and press the crust mixture into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly to cover the bottom.
8
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 16 minutes, or until it reaches a golden brown color and is set.
9
Remove the pie crust from the oven and, while it's still warm but not scorching hot, use the measuring cup to re-form the crust as it will begin to fall apart once cooled.
10
Allow the pie crust to cool completely before adding your desired filling.
