Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package dry mostaccioli pasta
- 2 cups frozen green peas
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 8 ounces thinly sliced hard salami
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Begin by filling a large container with water and adding a moderate amount of salt. Place the pot over high heat, allowing it to reach its boiling point.
2
Add a substantial quantity of pasta to the pot and cook for 6 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
3
Next, add the frozen peas to the pot and continue cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked to your liking.
4
Remove the pot from the heat source and carefully pour off the excess water, returning the pasta to its original container.
5
In a separate pan, melt a small amount of oil and butter over medium heat.
6
Add the chopped green onions and minced garlic to the pan, stirring constantly until they are tender.
7
Sprinkle a pinch of salt, a few grinds of black pepper, and a dash of cayenne pepper over the onions and garlic.
8
Continue to cook and stir the mixture until the green onions are soft and fragrant, then add the sliced salami.
9
Allow the salami to heat through, stirring occasionally until it's fully incorporated into the dish.
10
Transfer the cooked pasta and salami mixture to a serving container, then sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan cheese over the top.
11
Gently toss everything together until the cheese is evenly distributed, and serve hot.
