Begin by placing saffron in a small bowl and pouring 1/2 cup of boiling water over it. Allow the mixture to infuse for a short while.

Next, melt butter in a skillet that is designed to be sealed tightly over medium-high heat. Add the rice and salt, stirring constantly as you cook until the rice has absorbed the butter and becomes opaque. However, avoid allowing the rice to turn brown.

Immediately pour in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of boiling water and the saffron-infused liquid. Cover the skillet with a lid, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for approximately 20 minutes, or until all of the liquid has been absorbed. For optimal results, refrain from lifting the lid during this time.
