Place the cabbage on a cutting board with its flat side facing downwards; cut it into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange these slices in a single layer within a large casserole dish.

Lightly drizzle oil over the cabbage slices and sprinkle some minced garlic on top. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste, then cover the dish with aluminum foil.
