Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Apples
Ingredients
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen Brussels sprouts
  • 2 apples - peeled, cored, and cut into 3/4-inch chunks
  • 2 sweet onions, cut into 3/4-inch chunks
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, or as needed
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder to taste
  • zest from 1 lemon
  • juice from 1 lemon
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
2
Take the frozen Brussels sprouts and spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with a rim. Scatter the apple pieces and onion slices evenly across the baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd it.
3
Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the Brussels sprouts, apples, and onions to help bring out their flavors. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, some black pepper, and a dash of garlic powder over the top to add depth.
4
Use your hands or a spoon to gently toss the mixture, ensuring everything is well-coated with the oil and seasonings.
5
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and let it roast for approximately 20 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are hot and fragrant.
6
Once done, sprinkle some lemon zest over the top of the sprouts to add a burst of citrus flavor. Squeeze some juice from the zested lemon over the sprouts to finish it off.
