  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 pounds pork butt roast
  • 2 onion, sliced
  • 20 new potatoes, raw
  • 16 carrots, peeled
  • 2 cups mushrooms, halved

Acquire all necessary ingredients and prepare the cooking space by preheating the oven to its highest temperature setting, 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Heat a large cooking vessel over high heat. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the pork roast; massage the seasonings into the meat thoroughly. Sear the meat on all sides in the hot vessel until it develops a light brown color. Transfer the seared meat to a suitable roasting container.

Add sliced onions on top of the meat and place them in the roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan approximately two-thirds full with water.

Cover the roasting pan and bake it in the preheated oven for a period of three hours. Introduce diced potatoes and carrots into the pan; cover it again and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms to the pan and bake, covered, for another 15 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and let it rest undisturbed for at least ten minutes before serving.
