Roast Beef Sliders with Spicy Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef consomme, undiluted
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, diced, or more to taste
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, or as needed
  • 12 Hawaiian bread rolls, split
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 slices pepper Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons spicy horseradish, or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, or 150 degrees Celsius, for optimal cooking results.
2
Roughly chop the roast beef into small pieces until it reaches a crumbly texture, making it easier to incorporate into the sauce.
3
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine consommé, diced jalapeno, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
4
Once the sauce has reached a simmer, add the chopped roast beef and reduce the heat to medium-low. Allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through.
5
To thicken the sauce into a rich gravy, gradually add flour while stirring constantly. Continue cooking for 3-5 minutes, or until the desired consistency is achieved.
6
Remove the saucepan from the heat source and set it aside to cool slightly.
7
Slice the dinner rolls in half, but do not separate them from each other. Arrange the bottom halves on a baking sheet and layer with slices of provolone cheese.
8
Spoon the meat mixture over the provolone cheese, followed by a layer of cheddar cheese slices. Add a thin layer of horseradish to the top for added flavor.
9
Place the top rolls on top of the meat mixture, covering it completely. Then, bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10
Cut the sliders apart to serve, presenting them in a neat and appetizing manner.
