Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 12 fresh basil leaves, cut into thin strips
- 8 black mission figs, cut in quarters
- 1/4 cup aged balsamic vinegar
Instructions
1
Heat your oven to a high temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (or 190 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Arrange the baguette slices on a flat surface covered with a layer of non-stick foil, creating a makeshift baking tray.
3
Put the slices in the oven and bake until they develop a rich brown color on their lower surfaces, approximately 5 minutes; then flip them over and continue baking until they become crispy on the other side, another 5 minutes.
4
Take the baking tray out of the oven.
5
Apply a small amount of ricotta cheese to each slice of toasted bread, followed by a few delicate strips of basil leaves and a single slice of fig on top. Finish the dish off with a light drizzle of balsamic vinegar
