Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 cups thinly sliced rhubarb
- 15 seedless grapes, halved
- 1/2 orange, sectioned
- 10 fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 apple, cored and diced
- 1 peach, sliced
- 1 plum, pitted and sliced
- 15 pitted Bing cherries
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
Instructions
1
Combine water and sugar in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, bringing the mixture to a rolling boil. Introduce the rhubarb into the saucepan and adjust the heat to low, covering it with a lid. Allow the rhubarb to become tender, taking around 10-15 minutes to achieve this.
2
Once the rhubarb is soft, use a masher or spoon to break it down into a smooth consistency. Store the chilled rhubarb in the refrigerator for approximately one hour to allow it to cool.
3
To serve, combine a variety of fruits including grapes, orange, strawberries, apple, peach, plum, cherries, and blueberries in a bowl. Add 2/3 cup of the prepared rhubarb sauce to the mixture, stirring gently yet thoroughly to coat each fruit evenly. Place the prepared fruit salad in the refrigerator for at least two hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
