- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1 cup raspberries

Heat water and sugar together in a small saucepan over high heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching, until the sugar has completely incorporated and the mixture reaches a rolling boil, approximately 5-10 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the heat source and gently fold in raspberries, using a utensil to break down the fruit.

Mash the raspberries with a tool designed for crushing or a fork, releasing their natural juices.

Allow the mixture to infuse in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, pressing on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.

Discard the remaining raspberry pulp and store the syrup in a sealed container in the refrigerator for later use.
