Ingredients
- 4 (4 ounce) tilapia fillets
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme, or to taste
Instructions
1
Wash the tilapia fillets under cold running water to remove any impurities, then gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Sprinkle both sides of each fillet with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper to enhance flavor.
2
Dip each fillet into a shallow dish containing flour, coating both sides evenly. Gently press the flour-coated fillet into the flour to adhere it, then shake off any excess flour that doesn't stick.
3
Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the tilapia fillets in batches if necessary, until they become tender and flake easily with a fork, about 4 minutes per side.
4
In the last minute of cooking, brush melted butter onto each tilapia fillet to add richness and flavor.
5
Drizzle the cooked tilapia fillets with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, then garnish with chopped parsley and thyme for added freshness.
