Quick Ginger Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 pound round steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 12 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sweet and sour sauce
  • 4 cups cooked rice
Instructions
1
Combine soy sauce and ginger in a large glass or ceramic container, whisking them together until well blended. Add the steak and gently mix to ensure it is evenly coated with the marinade. Cover the container with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
2
Heat a wok over extremely high heat. Add the steak mixture and immediately cover the wok, allowing it to sear for about 5 minutes or until browned. Transfer the steak to a plate and reserve.
3
Melt butter in the wok over extremely high heat. Introduce the mushrooms, onion, bell pepper, and sweet and sour sauce into the wok, stirring to combine. Cover the wok again and cook until the vegetables start to soften, approximately 3 minutes. Stir in the cooked steak and continue cooking until it is heated through, roughly 2 minutes.
