Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup margarine, softened
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 (.25 ounce) package instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
1
Heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it reaches the temperature where you can touch it without burning yourself or a few tiny bubbles start to form around the edge.
2
Remove from heat and stir in margarine until it's fully incorporated and melted; set aside momentarily.
3
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, white sugar, yeast, and salt. Gradually add the milk mixture, water, and egg to the bowl, mixing everything together until it's well combined.
4
Add the remaining 1 cup of flour, stirring thoroughly after each addition.
5
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it until it becomes smooth and even, taking around 5 minutes to do so.
6
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes, allowing the ingredients to meld together.
7
While the dough is resting, mix together brown sugar, margarine, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set the mixture aside for now.
8
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), making sure it's nice and hot.
9
Grease a 12-cup muffin pan with some cooking spray to prevent the rolls from sticking.
10
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12x9-inch rectangle, making sure it's evenly spread out.
11
Spread the brown sugar mixture over the dough, sprinkling some raisins on top for added flavor.
12
Roll up the dough and pinch the seam to seal it tightly.
13
Cut the rolled-up dough into 12 equal pieces, making sure they're all roughly the same size.
14
Place each cut-side up in the prepared muffin cups, covering them with a clean cloth to let them rise.
15
Let the rolls rise until they've doubled in size, taking around 30 minutes to do so.
16
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until they're golden brown, taking around 20 minutes to do so.
17
Remove the rolls from the muffin cups and let them cool on a wire rack, serving them warm.
