- 4 1/2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, thinly sliced
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package French vanilla cake mix

Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or the equivalent temperature of 175 degrees Celsius on your oven).

Combine blackberries and granulated sugar in a mixing container, blending them until they are well-coated.

Transfer the blackberry mixture to a 9x13-inch glass baking dish and spread it out evenly across the bottom of the pan.

Sprinkle cake mix powder uniformly over the blackberries, making sure to cover the entire surface.

Place butter slices on top of the cake mix powder, covering most of it with an even layer.

Do not blend or stir the mixture at this stage.

Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake until the topping is a golden brown color, taking approximately 45 minutes to achieve.
