Quick and Easy Air Fryer Baby Back Ribs
Ingredients
  • 1 rack baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
1
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to expose the tender meat underneath. Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel, paying close attention to any excess moisture. Cut the rack into four equal pieces, making sure each piece is roughly the same size.
2
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil and liquid smoke until well combined. Generously brush the mixture onto both sides of the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
3
In another bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder. Season both sides of the ribs liberally with the spice blend, taking care not to overdo it.
4
Allow the ribs to rest for 30 minutes, giving the seasonings time to penetrate the meat and enhance the overall flavor. This step is crucial in developing a rich, complex taste.
5
Preheat an air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). It's essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions for preheating.
6
Place the ribs bone-side down in the air fryer basket, taking care not to overcrowd it. If necessary, cook them in batches to ensure even cooking.
7
Cook the ribs for 15 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly browned. Flip them over (meat-side down) and cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
8
Remove the ribs from the air fryer and brush the bone-side with 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce. Place the basket back in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to set.
9
Flip the ribs over, brush their meat side with the remaining 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce, and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the desired char is achieved.
