Pumpkin Spice Puff Pastry Pie
Ingredients
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup fine semolina
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the optimal temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Next, take a moment to prepare your baking sheet by applying a thin layer of grease. This will ensure that your pastry releases easily once it's baked.
3
In a small skillet, gently heat the pumpkin puree over medium heat, stirring periodically to prevent scorching. As the mixture warms, most of its liquid will evaporate, leaving behind a rich and thick consistency.
4
At this stage, introduce the sugar, raisins, semolina, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg into the skillet, stirring until these ingredients are fully incorporated.
5
Immediately remove the skillet from the heat source and set it aside to cool slightly.
6
Then, take one puff pastry sheet and gently place it onto the prepared baking sheet.
7
Next, spread the pumpkin mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
8
Following this, carefully position the remaining puff pastry sheet on top of the filling, pressing gently to seal the edges.
9
Finally, use a beaten egg to brush the top of the pastry, adding a touch of golden glaze to your finished dish.
10
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake until the pastry is golden brown, typically taking 30 to 40 minutes.
