Ingredients
- 4 turkey legs
- 1 cup olive oil
- 2 green bell peppers
- 1 large white onion
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
- 5 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
Instructions
1
Make numerous incisions along the length of each turkey leg, cutting deep into the meat to create a series of vertical cuts.
2
In a small bowl, blend together olive oil, salt, pepper, teriyaki sauce, vinegar, and oregano to create a marinade. Add the turkey legs and gently toss them to coat evenly, ensuring they are fully immersed in the mixture. Allow the turkey legs to marinate while you prepare the accompanying vegetables and bacon.
3
Cut the onion, green pepper, and bacon into small, uniform pieces, roughly the same size as the incisions in the turkey legs.
4
Stuff each slit with a single piece of pepper, onion, and bacon, carefully placing the ingredients within the incisions.
5
Once the turkey legs have been stuffed, sear them in the marinade mixture over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Gradually reduce the temperature to low and cover the skillet, allowing the turkey legs to cook for 40 to 45 minutes or until the meat begins to pull away from the bone. If the legs appear dry during cooking, add a small amount of water to the skillet and lower the heat slightly.
