Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup finely chopped almonds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, or more as needed
Instructions
1
Collect all the necessary components.
2
Combine butter and sugar in a medium-sized bowl using an electric mixer until they achieve a light and fluffy texture. Incorporate vanilla extract and water into the mixture, blending well. Gradually add flour, almonds, and salt to the bowl; mix on a low speed until the dough just comes together. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 to 3 hours.
3
Heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). Form the chilled dough into small, round balls.
4
Place these balls 2 inches apart on unlined cookie trays.
5
Bake the cookies in your preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove them from the trays and transfer them to wire racks to cool, taking around 20 to 30 minutes.
6
Dust powdered sugar in a shallow dish. Roll the cooled cookies around in the powdered sugar to coat them evenly.
7
Store the coated cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
