Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 pound linguica sausage, cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 (15.5 ounce) can prepared shelled beans
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups uncooked white rice

Heat a substantial saucepan over high heat; melt butter in it until it's fully incorporated and has a smooth consistency. Introduce the linguica, onion, bell peppers, black pepper, basil, and oregano into the pot; stir until these ingredients are well combined and the vegetables have reached a tender state, approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Add the beans to the linguica-vegetable mixture; continue cooking until the beans have become soft and easily digestible, around 5 minutes.

Pour water into the pot; incorporate the rice by stirring it in thoroughly. Cover the saucepan, decrease the heat to a low setting, and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked and all the liquid has been absorbed, roughly 20 to 25 minutes.
