Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 (3/4 inch) thick pork chops
- 16 ounces sauerkraut
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons apple juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon caraway seed
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
2
Melt oil in the pan and add pork chops, allowing them to sear on all sides.
3
Take the pork chops out of the pan and set them aside.
4
Next, add sauerkraut, onion, apple juice, garlic, and caraway seeds to the same hot skillet; sprinkle with salt and pepper before sautéing for 3 to 4 minutes.
5
Put the browned pork chops on top of the sauerkraut mixture and cover the pan.
6
Gradually decrease the heat to a low setting and cook until the pork is no longer pink in the center, approximately 20 minutes.
7
An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
