Pork Chops in Mushroom Wine Sauce
Ingredients
  • 6 pork chops
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mushrooms, cleaned
Instructions
1
Heat a frying pan over an elevated heat setting, approximately in the middle of its temperature range. Prepare the pork chops by sprinkling both sides with a pinch of salt and a few grinds of pepper. Sear the pork chops in the pan for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, resulting in a partially cooked exterior. It is not necessary to cook the pork chops through; they will continue cooking in the oven. Set the seared pork chops aside momentarily.
2
Preheat your oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
3
Retain the flavorful juices that accumulated during the searing process in the pan. Add a diced onion to the pan and cook until it becomes tender, approximately taking about 5 minutes. Introduce a soup, white wine, and sliced mushrooms into the pan, stirring until they are well combined. Remove the pan from the heat source.
4
Return the seared pork chops, along with any accumulated juices, to the pan with the sauce. Spoon a small amount of the sauce over the top of each pork chop. Cover the pan and place it in the oven; bake for approximately 45 minutes. Remove the lid from the pan and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes. Serve with the accompanying sauce.
