SERVINGS

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 4 fresh hamburger buns
Instructions
1
Combine the ground beef, tomato paste, salt, sugar, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, pepper, and oregano in a large bowl. Thoroughly blend the ingredients together to create a cohesive mixture. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours, allowing the flavors to meld and integrate, approximately 4 hours.
2
Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin patty. Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on top of 4 patties, leaving a small border around the edges to prevent the cheese from oozing out. Place the remaining patties on top of the cheese and press the edges together to seal in the filling.
3
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat, taking care not to let it get too hot. Cook the burgers until they are nicely browned and the centers reach a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C), which should take around 6 to 7 minutes per side. Serve the burgers on toasted buns
