- 1 (16 ounce) can pineapple chunks with juice
- water as needed
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 (12 ounce) bag fresh cranberries

Begin by extracting the juice from a can of pineapple and pouring it into a measuring cup. Fill the measuring cup with enough water to bring the total liquid volume to 1 cup.

Next, combine the pineapple juice mixture and sugar in a saucepan and place it over high heat. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.

Add fresh or frozen cranberries to the saucepan and continue boiling until they return to a boil. Then, reduce the heat to a low simmer.

Allow the cranberries to cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until they have popped and released their juices.

Meanwhile, take the canned pineapple chunks and mix them into the cranberry mixture. As the mixture cools to room temperature, it will be ready for serving.
