- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, or more to taste
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Get your outdoor grill ready for medium-high heat, but use the opposite side of the grill to achieve indirect heat.

Rip out the internal cavity and toss those useless packets away. Give your turkey a good rinse under cold water, then gently pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Tuck those wings back so they don't interfere with the skin on your neck, and secure them in place.

Rub that turkey all over with some oil to keep it moist during cooking, and sprinkle a blend of herbs, salt, and pepper inside and out to add flavor.

Place the turkey breast-side up on a metal grate, which is usually located at the bottom of a large roasting pan.

Put that roasting pan over indirect heat on your preheated grill and let it cook for 2 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature of your thigh reaches a safe 180 degrees F (85 degrees C).
