  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 8 ears corn on the cob, husks and silk removed
  • 1/2 cup softened butter, or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Fill a large container with chilled water, then add sugar and 1/2 cup of finely ground salt, stirring until they are completely incorporated.

Submerge the corn kernels in this mixture and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 8 hours.

Heat up a grill over high flames and lightly coat the grill's surface with oil.
