Perfect Fruit Cake
Ingredients
  • 1 pound candied cherries
  • 1 pound candied pineapple
  • 1 pound pitted dates
  • 1 pound chopped pecans
  • 4 (8 ounce) packages flaked coconut
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the optimal temperature of 300 degrees Fahrenheit, equivalent to 150 degrees Celsius. Next, lightly coat a 10-inch tube-shaped baking dish with non-stick spray to prevent the cake from sticking. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper that has been greased to ensure it adheres properly. Set the prepared tube pan aside for now.
2
In a large mixing bowl, combine and chop your desired fruits and nuts. Add shredded coconut to the mixture and use your hands to thoroughly incorporate it. Then, add flour to the bowl and mix until well combined with the coconut mixture. Finally, stir in sweetened condensed milk to give your cake a rich flavor.
3
Pack the mixture firmly into the prepared tube pan, making sure to fill it evenly. Now, bake the cake in the preheated oven for 1 and a half hours. Remove it from the oven when the time is up.
4
Once the cake has finished baking, use a knife to loosen its edges from the pan. Carefully remove the rim of the pan and transfer the cake to a serving plate. When the cake is just warm, use your fingers or a knife to remove the parchment paper and any remaining tube bottom from the cake.
