Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 3/4 pound beef tenderloin, cut into 1/4 inch strips
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
1
Combine the contents of a small bowl by mixing together 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce, and 0.5 teaspoons of cornstarch. Add the beef and thoroughly coat it with the mixture. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 30 to 45 minutes, then remove it 10 minutes prior to cooking.
2
In a separate bowl, blend together water, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, and a pinch of pepper. Set this mixture aside for later use.
3
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over extremely high heat. Introduce the onion into the skillet and cook until it starts to develop a golden brown color on its edges, approximately 1 minute. Add the beef and continue cooking and stirring until it reaches a slightly pink color, roughly 5 minutes.
4
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens and turns a translucent color, about 1 minute longer.
