Pepperoni Mozzarella Bread
Ingredients
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried minced onion flakes
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced pepperoni sausage
  • 1 (6 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
1
Allow the frozen bread dough to thaw gradually in the refrigerator over an extended period, such as 8 hours or overnight. Transfer the dough to a spacious, lightly oiled bowl and cover it with a clean dish towel. Place the bowl in a warm environment until it has doubled in volume, typically within 2 to 3 hours. Gently press down on the dough.
2
Next, preheat your oven to a moderate temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a large, flat baking sheet to prevent the dough from sticking.
3
Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape measuring 12 inches by 18 inches on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly anoint the dough with olive oil and sprinkle it with dried basil, onion powder, and oregano. Arrange the pepperoni slices along the edges of the dough, leaving a small gap of about 1/2 inch. Finally, layer the mozzarella cheese on top.
4
To form a cylindrical shape, begin rolling the dough from its longest edge. Seal the seam by pressing it firmly together. Brush the rolled cylinder with a beaten egg for added flavor and texture.
5
Place the rolled dough in the preheated oven and bake until it reaches a golden brown color, approximately 35 minutes. Once baked, cut the pizza into bite-sized pieces for serving
