- 1 head green leaf lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 3 medium pears - peeled, cored and chopped
- 5 ounces Roquefort cheese, crumbled
- 1 medium avocado - peeled, pitted, and diced
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

Prepare the pecans: Mix pecans and sugar in a skillet heated over medium heat. Stir occasionally until sugar dissolves and pecans achieve a deep golden color, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.

Transfer the cooled nuts onto a sheet of waxed paper to allow them to cool completely.

Simultaneously, prepare the dressing: Blend oil, vinegar, sugar, mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper together in a bowl using a whisk.
