Ingredients
- 3 cups white sugar, divided
- 3/4 cup margarine, divided
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme (such as Kraft Jet-Puffed), divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, divided
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions
1
Combine 1 and a half cups of granulated sugar, six tablespoons of unsalted butter or margarine, and one third cup of evaporated milk in a large saucepan; heat until it reaches its boiling point, stirring constantly.
2
Continue to cook over medium heat for 4 minutes, maintaining a steady flow of liquid and stirring constantly to avoid burning.
3
Remove from the heat source; stir in chocolate pieces until they have fully dissolved. Add half of the marshmallow creme and a pinch of vanilla; blend until the mixture is smooth.
4
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
5
Repeat steps one and two with the remaining ingredients, substituting peanut butter for chocolate pieces. Spread it evenly over the chocolate layer.
6
Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature until it has hardened; cut into squares.
