Peach Crumble Tart
Ingredients
  • 1 (9 inch) pie crust pastry
  • 9 fresh peaches, peeled and halved
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg, or to taste
Instructions
1
Heat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach, which is 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 230 degrees Celsius. Place the pie crust into a circular baking dish with a diameter of nine inches.
2
In a separate container, merge sugar, flour, butter, and salt together; use your fingers to blend the ingredients until they form a small, crumbly mass. Pour one-third of this mixture into the pie crust.
3
Arrange peach halves flat-side down on top of the crumbly mixture, leaving a small gap between each half to create space for additional filling. Cut the remaining peach halves into smaller pieces and place them between the original halves to fill any gaps. Cover the entire surface with the remaining crumb mixture, finishing it off with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
4
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Lower the heat to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius, and continue baking until the top is a golden brown color, approximately thirty minutes later.
