Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh blackberries
- 3 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 double crust ready-to-use pie crust
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, or 230 degrees Celsius.
2
Combine the blackberries, peaches, cornstarch, and sugar in a large mixing container. Blend these ingredients together until they form a cohesive mixture.
3
Place one of the pie crusts at the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish. Fill this crust with the blackberry mixture, followed by covering it with the remaining pie crust.
4
Press the edges of the two pie crusts together firmly to seal the pie. Make several small holes in the top crust using a sharp object, allowing steam to escape during cooking.
5
Brush melted butter over the top of the pie crust. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg over the top for added flavor.
6
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. After this initial baking time, reduce the oven temperature to a moderate level of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Continue baking the pie until the top crust is golden brown, taking approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
