  • 2 1/2 tablespoons pesto
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Fill a large pot with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt and bring it to a vigorous boil. Submerge the pasta into the boiling water, then return it to the rolling boil. Continue cooking the pasta uncovered, occasionally stirring it gently, until it reaches a tender yet still slightly firm texture, which should take around 8 to 10 minutes. Remove the pasta from the water and transfer it to a large serving container.

In a separate pan, heat a moderate amount of oil over low-medium heat. Introduce the onion into the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it becomes soft and translucent, taking about 3 minutes. Combine the cooked onion with pesto, salt, and pepper in the pan; stir until everything is warmed through and well combined.
