Parmesan Sauce for Fish
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon butter, or as needed
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 dashes hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  • 2 pounds cod fillets
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components for the recipe and position an oven rack approximately 6 inches away from the heat source. Preheat the oven's broiler setting to its maximum temperature.
2
Prepare a baking sheet by covering it with aluminum foil and lightly greasing the surface with 1 teaspoon of butter.
3
Combine Parmesan cheese, 1/3 cup of softened butter, mayonnaise, chopped green onion, fresh lemon juice, dried dill weed, salt, black pepper, and a dash of hot sauce in a medium-sized bowl. Stir until the ingredients are fully incorporated and set aside.
4
Arrange cod fillets in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not overlapping.
5
Place the cod fillets under the preheated broiler and cook until it flakes easily with a fork, taking 7 to 8 minutes.
6
Gently spread the Parmesan mixture evenly over the fish fillets, then return them to the oven and continue broiling until the topping is bubbly and lightly browned, approximately 2 additional minutes.
