  • 1 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan

Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or equivalently, 175 degrees Celsius. To prepare your baking surface, cover it with a layer of parchment paper.

Next, take a flat surface and lightly dust it with flour to prevent sticking. Then, unroll both puff pastry sheets and roll each one out into a uniform rectangular shape.

For the assembly, take one of the rolled-out pastry sheets and lightly brush it with water. Sprinkle a portion of the Parmesan cheese, approximately half of the total amount, onto this sheet. Place the second pastry sheet on top and brush it with water as well. Finally, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese onto this second sheet.

Using a large star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out approximately twelve stars from the combined pastry sheets. Arrange these stars on the prepared baking sheet.

Allow the stars to chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, or if you're short on time, refrigerate them for 5 minutes. Then, bake the stars in a preheated oven until they are puffed up and golden brown, taking around 15 to 20 minutes.
