Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- 6 thin slices fresh ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1-inch-thick tuna steaks, thawed
Instructions
1
Combine the savory flavors of soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, sesame oil, molasses, cayenne pepper, ginger, and garlic in a bowl to create the marinade.
2
Put the tuna steaks in a large, airtight container or resealable plastic bag; pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the container and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
3
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, allowing it to reach the optimal temperature.
4
Take the steaks out of the marinade and discard any excess liquid. Place the steaks in the hot pan, gently swaying it to prevent sticking. Cook for 1 1/2 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook an additional minute.
