Pan-Seared Barramundi with Lemon Basil Sauce
Ingredients
  • 4 (4 ounce) fillets barramundi (Asian sea bass)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, or to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.
2
To prepare the fish, lightly anoint it with olive oil to prevent sticking during cooking.
3
Create a topping mixture by blending together bread crumbs, seafood seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, and thyme on a large plate until you achieve a uniform blend.
4
Coat the fish fillets evenly with the bread crumb mixture, ensuring all sides are adequately covered.
5
Arrange the coated fish fillets in a single layer on a baking sheet, allowing for even cooking.
6
Bake the fish in the preheated oven for an initial 10 minutes, or until it reaches a suitable temperature.
7
Turn the fish fillets over and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
8
Prepare the sauce by combining melted butter, lemon juice, white wine, and basil in a small bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency.
9
Drizzle the prepared sauce over the cooked fish to serve.
