Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups turkey broth
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1 (6 ounce) package corn bread stuffing mix
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 pint shucked oysters, drained, or more if desired
- 1 turkey giblets, cooked and chopped
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
To prepare the dish, grease a standard-sized baking pan measuring 9 inches by 9 inches.
3
In a saucepan, bring the turkey broth to a rolling boil over medium heat, and simultaneously melt the margarine in the broth.
4
Mix the prepared stuffing mix into the boiling broth until it is fully incorporated and combined. Transfer the resulting mixture to a large bowl.
5
Add pork sausage, ground beef, chopped onion, and beaten egg to the mixture in the bowl. Combine these ingredients until they are well blended together.
6
Add oysters, turkey giblets, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Mix these ingredients lightly into the main mixture.
7
Transfer the final oyster stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
8
Bake the stuffed dish in your preheated oven until the sausage and ground beef are cooked through, and the stuffing is crispy, lightly browned, and golden. This should take approximately 1 hour.
