Ingredients
- 1/2 (8 ounce) package Fontina cheese
- 1/2 (8 ounce) package sharp Cheddar cheese
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a medium-hot temperature, equivalent to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Position the center of a square baking dish, approximately 9 inches in size, without applying any grease. Place blocks of Fontina and sharp Cheddar cheese within the dish.
3
Add a serving of pasta to the baking dish, spreading it out evenly around the cheese. Next, pour half-and-half directly onto the pasta, stirring until everything is well-coated.
4
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the pasta, followed by a layer of shredded white Cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
5
Place the baking dish in your preheated oven for 25 minutes, allowing it to heat through.
6
Remove the dish from the oven and stir in a small amount of milk, ensuring that all ingredients are well-combined.
7
Return the dish to the oven and continue cooking until it reaches a golden, bubbly consistency, approximately 25 minutes more.
8
Finally, stir the dish before serving it immediately.
