Oven-Baked Ham with Pineapple Mustard Glaze and Cherries
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1 (4.5 pound) butt-end smoked ham
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) can pineapple rings, drained
  • 1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1/4 cup whole cloves
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit (or 165 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
In a bowl, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, and dry mustard, whisking until the sugar has fully incorporated into the liquid.
3
Place the ham in a baking dish with its cut side facing downwards and arrange the pineapple rings and maraschino cherries on top of the ham, securing them with toothpicks if necessary.
4
Insert cloves into the ham and brush it generously with the pineapple juice glaze, making sure to cover all surfaces evenly.
5
Place the ham in the preheated oven and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the glaze has set firmly onto the ham; every 30 minutes, baste the ham with additional pineapple juice glaze to ensure even coverage.
6
Turn on your oven's broiler function and place the ham under the heat, allowing it to brown the pineapple slices and form a crispy crust on top, taking about 5 minutes to achieve.
