Orange Cranberry Glazed Turkey Meatballs
Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup canned jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon minced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced Fresno pepper
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Combine the ground turkey, a blend of herbs including poultry seasoning, garlic salt, onion powder, and salt, along with some heat from cayenne pepper and a savory element from Worcestershire sauce, in a bowl. Add an egg, milk, and some extra texture from bread crumbs to the mixture. Cover it up and pop it in the fridge for about an hour.
2
Heat some olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Take the turkey mixture and shape it into small, rounded balls, roughly one tablespoon each. Place these meatballs in a single layer on the skillet's surface. Let them cook for a bit, flipping occasionally until they're nicely browned on all sides. Transfer the browned meatballs to a clean baking sheet and set them aside.
3
In the same skillet used for cooking the meatballs, combine cranberry sauce, marmalade, and some chicken broth over medium heat. Add in some sliced jalapeno and Fresno peppers to give it an extra kick, then return the meatballs to the skillet. Lower the heat to medium-low and let it simmer until the meatballs are cooked through and the glaze has thickened. Season with some salt and pepper to taste
