Ingredients
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped, pitted dates

Heat a small saucepan over low heat and melt 9 tablespoons of butter; then combine the melted butter with oats.

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool, approximately 20 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, and baking powder; then stir in the oat-date mixture.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Grease a baking sheet with the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter.

Using a spoon, create small mounds of the oat-date mixture, spaced 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake the mounds in the preheated oven until they are lightly browned on both top and bottom, approximately 20 minutes.
