Oatmeal Cookie Mix in a Jar
Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
To create a delicious cookie, start by preparing the ingredients in a 1-quart or 1-liter jar.
2
Firstly, add a generous amount of white sugar to the bottom of the jar, pressing it down firmly. Next, layer brown sugar on top of the white sugar, again packing it down to make room for the next ingredient.
3
Now, add a layer of oats, followed by flour, then baking powder, and finally salt. Press each ingredient firmly into place to ensure they stay in position.
4
After adding the dry ingredients, it's time for the sweet treats. Layer chocolate chips and walnuts on top of the dry ingredients, pressing them down to prevent them from escaping during baking.
5
Once all the ingredients are in place, screw on the lid and cover it with an 8-inch circle of fabric. Secure the fabric over the lid using a rubber band, then cover the rubber band by tying a nice piece of ribbon or raffia around the lid. Attach a tag to the ribbon with the following instructions:
6
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer to cream 3/4 cup of softened butter with 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
7
Next, add the entire contents of the jar to the bowl and mix everything together by hand until it's well combined.
8
Now, drop spoonfuls of the dough onto an unprepared cookie sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown. The result will be approximately 2 dozen delicious cookies.
