Oat and Raisin Flapjack
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons golden syrup or corn syrup
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup raisins
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a moderate temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a small saucepan, heat the butter over low flames until it is fully incorporated with the brown sugar and golden syrup. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until both the butter and sugar have reached a smooth consistency.
3
Mix in the oats and raisins, ensuring they are evenly coated with the sugar mixture. Transfer the prepared mixture to a 7 or 8 inch square baking pan, creating a layer that is approximately 1 inch thick.
4
Place the prepared mixture in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the top layer has turned a golden brown color. Remove from the oven and cut into squares before allowing it to cool completely.
5
Once cooled, carefully remove the baked goods from the 7 or 8 inch square baking pan.
