  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

To prepare the baking surfaces, lightly coat cookie sheets and the outsides of four inverted 6-ounce custard cups with a thin layer of oil.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour and almonds. Set this mixture aside for later use.

In another saucepan, bring together the sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir these ingredients constantly over medium heat until they reach a boil.
