Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 pounds beef bones
- 6 cups cool water, or as needed
- 2 onions, thickly sliced
- 2 carrots
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Apply a non-stick cooking spray to a roasting pan.
3
Cover the beef bones with a layer of tomato paste and position them in the prepared roasting pan.
4
Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and allow the bones to develop a rich brown color, approximately 30 minutes.
5
Transfer the bones from the roasting pan to a slow cooker and add sufficient water to cover them completely. Incorporate sliced onions, chopped carrots, minced garlic, and bay leaves into the liquid mixture.
6
Cook on Low for a minimum of 24 hours to extract the maximum flavor from the bones.
7
Separate the broth mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a container for storage, then refrigerate it.
