- 2 pounds fresh strawberries
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 (9 inch) deep-dish graham cracker pie crust
- 1 (8 ounce) tub whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®)

Cut approximately two-thirds of the strawberries into smaller pieces and place them in a large container.

Mash the remaining one-third of strawberries using a food processor until they reach a smooth consistency, then transfer them to a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Add granulated sugar, water, cornstarch, and lemon juice; bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly, for around 5 minutes. Stir continuously until the desired consistency is achieved, approximately another 5 minutes longer. Pour the smooth mixture over the sliced strawberries in the container and mix well, filling it to capacity.

Fill the pre-made graham cracker crust with the prepared mixture and refrigerate until it has fully set, approximately 3 hours. Slice and serve with a dollop of whipped topping on top.
