Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 large onions, sliced
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup beef stock
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 3 tablespoons black pepper
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
1
Preheat the cooking vessel over a moderate flame.
2
Melt oil in a large container, allowing it to reach the desired temperature.
3
Sear onions until they achieve a rich brown color; take them out of the container, and place them on a side surface.
4
Introduce ground beef into the container, cooking it until it is uniformly browned. Add garlic to the mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5
Combine the browned onions with the ground beef mixture and cook over high heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
6
Add 1 cup of water to the mixture and lower the heat, covering the container with a lid.
7
Simmer the stew for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
8
Add ketchup, beef stock, and teriyaki sauce to the stew, stirring well.
9
Season with pepper, curry powder, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
10
Cover the container again and continue simmering for approximately 2 hours, allowing the flavors to intensify.
11
Prepare a thickening agent by mixing 1 tablespoon of flour with 1/2 cup of water.
12
Stir the mixture into the stew and cook until it reaches a desired consistency.
