Napoleon Pastry Sheets
Ingredients
  • 1 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry dough, thawed
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar, or as needed for dusting
  • 3 sheets aluminum foil
  • 1 sheet parchment paper
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a flexible silicone mat.
3
Break the dough apart at its seams into four distinct sections and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
4
Use a fork to poke holes all over the dough, creating a textured surface.
5
Lightly dust the dough with granulated sugar to add flavor and visual appeal.
6
Cover the dough with a single sheet of parchment paper, followed by three layers of aluminum foil. Place another baking sheet on top to apply pressure and help the dough cook evenly.
7
Place the prepared dough in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
8
Remove the top baking sheet and foil, then carefully peel off the parchment paper. Continue baking until the pastry is golden brown, taking an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
9
Alternatively, you can remove the parchment paper and aluminum foil after 7 minutes of baking. Flip the sheets over and continue baking until the pastry is golden brown on both sides, taking an additional 7 minutes.
10
Transfer the baked pastries to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely before slicing.
11
Use a sharp knife with a gentle sawing motion to trim any uneven edges from the pastry sheets. Cut each rectangle crosswise into three equal pieces, using three rectangles per pastry.
