Ingredients
- 1/4 cup peanut or vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 3/4 cup water, divided
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 cube chicken bouillon
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and pour in the oil. Introduce the onion and garlic into the skillet, stirring constantly until they become soft and fragrant, approximately 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms to the skillet, along with 1/2 cup of water, wine, a bouillon cube, some fresh basil leaves, salt, and pepper; bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
2
Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer, uncovered and occasionally stirring, for 10 minutes. In a separate small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup of water and cornstarch. Stir this mixture into the mushroom mixture, allowing it to thicken, about 5 minutes.
